1912 English Cavalry Sword

From time to time we come across the odd unusual item. This is one of them. It appears to be a 1912 English Cavalry Sword. The condition isn’t too bad for its age. The blade, although at some stage in its life may have been shiny, is now dull with a thin coating of rust which appears to have stained the blade. The guard is intact and has some nice scrolling engraved on it. The shark skin grip has suffered the ravages of time, it is split and cracked but all there. There is no pommel and the scabbard that’s with it appears to be for something else, although the sword is a good fit in it. Worth having a look if you like swords and if you do know any more information about it or its type I would be very interested in knowing, thanks.
