The gun pictured here is a Savage model 24 20g/22 combination gun. It’s a very clever design, having the 20g barrel at the bottom and the 22 barrel at the top. The 22 top barrel is fitted with a good set of adjustable sights. These guns are extremely unusual to find today and this one is in very nice condition. It’s all original with stock work only missing some of the lacquer finish that it originally had, but it still looks really good. The action has Savage’s colour case hardening, and the barrels are finished in a dark blue, of which 99% remains. The combination of the two cailbres would be very handy. The barrel on the bottom is chambered 3” so you can use all the grunty shells as well as any 2 ¾” including buckshot and slugs. The top barrel of course is 22 and will fire all available 22 long rifle ammunition. This would be the ideal gun for someone who wants one gun to do a couple of jobs, and with the availability of 20g slugs and butt shot, there’s no reason why you couldn’t shoot a deer or pig if it was properly sighted in.
