Ever thought about going to a 20ga rather than a 12ga and wondered what advantages you’d get?

For years the “Twenty” has had the huge advantage of being lighter and faster with less recoil. Recently 20 gauge factory lead loads of 36 gram (1 1/4oz) have made the gauge as grunty as the loads most commonly used in 12 gauge.

Well now it’s a better time to change than ever.  With the recent steel shot law for waterfowl hunting ammo has become both expensive and less effective. Having to use steel in a 12ga we have seen an average price rise in a pack of 12ga of around $5 per pack which is not good at all. Well here is the answer; the new rules exclude other gauge shotguns because manufacture of the ammo would be too difficult to setup, in other words you can use lead on the pond while the others use steel!! The big question is “Won’t 20ga be useless on ducks?” Simple answer is; “No.”  The pattern and spread is very similar to the 12ga in fact many say the 20 gauge is better.
