The Marlin 308 Express has a few features worth mentioning, especially for those people who would like to mount a scope.  There are very few Lever action rifles that are side ejection with a solid top receiver, making it a lot easier to mount a scope.  This side ejection is a standard feature in all Marlin rifles.  The rifle comes fitted with a Weaver style base allowing secure mounting of your scope choice.  Also provided on the hammer is a spur which allows for easy cocking or uncocking of the rifle when mounted with a scope.  Also fitted are a set of open sights.  The gun is fitted with a hammer block safety catch, so no accidental discharges.  It sports American black walnut stocks with good checkering.  QD studs are also provided.  With the gun being chambered in the powerful and flat shooting 308 Marlin Express, this rifle would suit someone looking for a quick shooting easily handled rifle from the bush and to ranges out to around 300m this calibre and rifle could be a good option for you.
