The Sako TRG is a detailed study of the needs of a marksman. It is designed for one job and one job only: to hit the target. The result is a total accuracy concept designed 100% by Sako, a member of the Beretta family. 

The free-floating, target grade barrels, made especially for the TRG, are cold-hammer forged. The muzzle is threaded for an optional addition of a muzzle brake or suppressor. A rigid action formed from cold-hammered special alloyed steel features 3 locking lugs and a bolt-lift angle of 60o for a fast bolt throw.. 

The two-stage trigger is adjustable for weight from 2 to 5 lbs (1 to 2.5 kg) of pull. It is also adjustable in length and horizontal or vertical pitch. The entire trigger assembly, including the trigger guard, can be removed from the rifle without disassembling any other part of the rifle. The safety catch, which is silent in operation, is located inside the trigger guard. The safety locks the trigger mechanism and locks the bolt in a closed position with the firing pin blocked.

Sako Accessory Rail: Tactical Integrated Accessory Rail. 
Aluminum construction - attachment platform for the Sako TRG22/42 weapon system. Made up of three MILSTD-1913 Picatinny rails attaches around the rifle barrel. Installing this system allows the use of different tactical accessories. 
Standard Picatinny or Weaver mounts can be used. All mounting screws and sling swivel attachment included.

Both Mat & Tim (from Gun City) got the chance to use one of these rifles fitted with a Schmidt and Bender 5-25x56 at the Gunslinger long range shoot in Tekapo.
