Make: Smith & Wesson Cal: 44 Magnum Mod: 629 Barrel Length: 6” / 153mm Barrel Condition: 90% Finish: stainless steel Grip type: factory wood Action type: double action Feed system: 6 round cylinder Sights: fixed front adjustable rear Made in: USA New/used: used The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a 6 shot double action revolver chambered for the powerful 44 magnum cartridge. The gun was first introduced in 1955 and was going along quite nicely until 1971 when Clint Eastwood made it famous as the most powerful handgun in the world in the movie “Dirty Harry”. Although the Model 29 has never been the most powerful handgun in the world as stated in the movie, the model 29 was amongst the most powerful at the time, or at least as far as commercially available weapons go. Even today they enjoy huge popularity for those people who enjoy large calibre handguns. It’s almost one of the guns you must have. The example pictured here is extremely tidy and is in excellent condition. The gun has been used but not abused. All the metal workings are there: factory original sights; the barrel is shiny and clean with no marks; the gun wears a set of factory walnut grips which are checkered and have the S&W logo. If you’re a model 29 fan, or would like to become one, this handgun is well worth having a look at. It’s an extremely good example of a popular gun.
