The Chatellerault 24/29 light machine gun was adapted by the French in 1922 and started its service life in 1924 using 7.5x57mm ammunition but was changed into 7.5x54mm in 1929 to avoid accidents in case a German 8x57mm would be introduced. This weapon used the same operation as the m1918 Browning Automatic Rifle but considered superior by French troups. The 24/29 light machine gun inspired the check ZB30 which became the British brand gun. The magazine is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches and has its original finish. The magazine holds 25 rounds so if you are looking for a spare magazine for your French light machine gun we can supply them to you. No licence or police mail order permit required for magazines.
