Pictured here is a side folding stock made by Choate in the USA to suit the Thompson centre encore rifles. They have a synthetic pistol grip and butt. The hinge system and the pin is all steel. It looks like, and is an extremely robust design and very easy to operate. You only need to push down on the folding portion of the stock to either open or close it. Open or closed the stock is very rigid. Also being synthetic, makes it impervious to most weather conditions and very scratch resistant. The butt stock has a good recoil pad fitted for your comfort. The stock is a no gunsmithing required. You need only to remove the original stock and grip and replace it with the entire folding stock unit. Job done!
